White primroses painted in watercolour without any initial sketch. A loose wash of watercolour was applied and scrunched up cling film pressed on sections for texture where the leaves would be. Once the initial wash dried, details of individual flowers were hinted at by mostly painting around them, a method that is referred to as negative painting.
